Jayden Lienou has signed a new three-year contract with Leeds United, extending his stay at the club until 2029.
The young defender joined the Whites from Manchester City last summer in a deal worth a reported £500,000. Since arriving at Thorp Arch, he has made 26 appearances for Leeds United's Under-21s, scoring once while continuing to establish himself as one of the club's promising young talents.
Lienou's impressive development has also been recognised on the international stage. Earlier this year, he earned his first senior call-up to the Wales national team for friendly matches against Ghana and Romania, marking another major milestone in his career.
Speaking after signing his new contract, Lienou expressed his delight:
"It feels amazing! Another step in the right direction, and another step towards where me and my family want me to get to in the future.
I'd say I'm probably further ahead than I thought I was going to be when I first signed for Leeds. When me and Scott sat down at the start of the season, we set some goals to get to certain situations, certain milestones in my career, and I think I've exceeded that."
His comments highlight both his rapid progress and the club's commitment to developing young talent. Leeds United continue to provide a clear pathway for academy and emerging players, helping them reach important milestones while preparing them for senior football.
